Synopsis: Edward Norton stars as Patrick Lanigan, the former Mississippi lawyer who stole ninety million dollars from his own firm and took off. His wife (Embeth Davidtz) thought he died but his former partners (James Woods and Dylan McDermott) never stopped looking for him. With the help of a former bounty hunter Jack Stephano (Mickey Rourke) Lanigan’s partners finally track him down in Brazil. As he’s brought back to Mississippi to stand trial Lanigan prepares his defense with the help of a young Brazilian lawyer (Morena Baccarin) and an old friend (Philip Seymour Hoffman). But as the trial is about to start another story begins to emerge, a story Patrick Lanigan has had four years on the run to plan.

What the Press would say:

The latest John Grisham adaptation is the best one yet. Edward Norton is brilliant as Patrick Lanigan and the relatively unknown Morena Baccarin shines in this All-Star production. George Clooney’s direction is superb, aided greatly by his insistence on Grisham’s strong personal involvement in the project. Clooney allows the characters to develop naturally, while injecting a sense of mystery that keeps the viewers on their heels, enjoying every minute of the ride.
